Everything New in Neverness to Everness Version 1.3

Neverness to Everness Version 1.3 is bringing a massive new area, new characters, summer events, vehicles, challenges, outfits, and much more. Here’s everything coming in the NTE Version 1.3 update.

Everything New in Neverness to Everness Version 1.3

Version 1.3, titled "Rising From the Moonlit Fog," releases on August 19th and introduces a variety of new content, including a new story chapter, playable characters, new locations, a new house, new vehicles, new events, gameplay systems, quality-of-life improvements, and much more.

In this blog, we'll take a look at everything coming in Neverness to Everness Version 1.3.

New Story Content

We’ll pick back up with the main story following the Appraiser’s escape from the Corridor of Echoes. Since then, things have been unusually quiet between Eibon, the Bureau, and the Scarlet Letter, but it definitely seems like something bigger is brewing behind the scenes. The Scarlet Letter has also managed to obtain anomalies connected to the Past, Present, and Future, leaving us to wonder what they are truly after. Many challenges are on the way, including a game that we must win to succeed. Let’s see this battle through to the very end and bring peace back to Eibon!

Members of ETD-6 will also be joining the operation. This includes Chaos, Linko, and a new character named Nitsa.

One important thing to note: you’ll need to finish the main story episode “Fighting with a Dragon” before you can start the new story in Fogden.

New Location Anomaly Fogden

Version 1.3 will also introduce a new location Anomaly called Fogden, a mysterious location that serves as the Scarlet Letter’s hunting grounds. Once we step inside, we’ll have to play by the rules of their game if we want to make it through. It certainly won’t be easy either, as Fogden will throw wave after wave of enemies at us as we progress deeper into the Anomaly. There will be no shortage of levels to clear along the way, giving us plenty of battles to fight and challenges to overcome as we work our way through everything Fogden has waiting for us.

New Character: Zankou

The first new pullable character coming in Version 1.3 is Zankou, a familiar face for anyone caught up with the main story. Her limited board will be available from August 19 through September 9, with the Ichi-Daime Limited Board featuring Nanally also running during this time. Zankou may look a little different than what we’re used to seeing, but disguises are actually one of her specialties. If you manage to pull her, you’ll also unlock Red Nightshade, giving you the option to use her familiar outfit from the main story.

Zankou will be a Main DPS with the Incantation Esper Attribute and compatibility with the Gas Arc. A big part of her character revolves around her Esper ability, Eye of Delusion, which is found within her right eye. Through it, Zankou can see a person’s soul and use her powers to mess with their emotions and perception, even going as far as creating entire illusions around them. There’s also an interesting visual element to her ability. While the world itself appears mostly black and white to Zankou, people’s souls stand out in different shades of red. Daffodils is a rare exception, appearing blue instead.

Her illusion-based abilities carry over into combat as well. Zankou can switch between Reality and Illusion, with each offering its own set of abilities to use in battle. She has a useful trick for exploration too, with the ability to turn invisible while making her way around the open world.

If you’re planning to build Zankou, you’ll need Eternal Memory from Anomaly Pilgrimage: Debt Collector for her Skill Upgrades. Her Level Ascension Material is the Nestguard Fragment, which drops from Anomaly Hunt: Call of the Lost.

New Character: Linko

Linko will be the next pullable character in Version 1.3, with her limited board available from September 9 through September 30. During that same period, the Misty Tipsy Style Limited Board featuring Hotori will also make its return.

Linko is a Burst DPS with the Anima Esper Attribute and is compatible with the Plasma Arc. She won’t be fighting alone either, as her anomaly partner Xiaoxhen plays a major role in her combat abilities. Linko’s Esper ability, Telepathy, essentially allows her to form a connection with the unique signals given off by people, anomalies, and even objects. By matching herself to another’s frequency, that connection can become strong enough for her to get a sense of how they’re doing and where they are. If the connection reaches its strongest point, the two can even tap into each other’s strength and movements, although Linko can only keep this up for a limited amount of time.

That connection with Xiaoxhen also gives Linko a fun way to travel around the city. When the two sync together, she can use Xiaoxhen’s ghost arms to launch herself through the air, making getting around the open world a little more interesting.

For Linko’s upgrades, you’ll need Dress Sleeves of Vanity from Anomaly Pilgrimage: The Never-ending Arachne for her skills. Her Level Ascension Material is Water Moon Pick, which can be acquired from Anomaly Hunt: Beat King.

New Location: Duskmoor

For all of you exploration junkies, this next addition is pretty exciting. Version 1.3 is bringing us an entirely new area to explore with Duskmoor, and this place is massive. Located northwest of Hethereau, Duskmoor has apparently been under construction ever since the Appraiser first arrived in the city, and visually, it looks completely different from the areas we’ve explored so far.

To give you an idea of just how big Duskmoor is, completing a full lap around its highway loop will take over 10 minutes. So, for all of you car enthusiasts out there, it looks like we’re finally getting a pretty big playground to drive around in. Duskmoor will feature an entire range of Loop Valley circuits, along with plenty of racing challenges for Appraisers to take on.

Exploration should also be a little more convenient here. Oracle Stones can be collected without leaving the driver’s seat, meaning you won’t constantly have to hop in and out of your car while exploring. Between its sheer size, racing challenges, and completely different look, Duskmoor should give us plenty of new ground to cover in Version 1.3.

Summer in Hethereau

Summer in Hethereau is finally here! The beach is located within the new Duskmoor area, and there will be plenty of summer events to take part in while we’re there. Of course, you can’t have a summer update without some new outfits either. Zankou gets Searing Lavender and Chaos gets Chartered Waves, both available from the Mall. Meanwhile, Saltwater Taffy for Mint, Sunny Surf for Nanally, and Cloudless Summer for the Appraiser can be obtained through Mystery Boxes. Shinku and Iroi are also getting in on the summer fun, with even more special outfits planned for other characters in the future.

One of the bigger summer activities will be a Beach Volleyball Tournament, where we’ll apparently be battling our way through Hethereau’s volleyball-crazed locals in hopes of taking home the championship. Matches are 2v2, with you choosing one character to control and an AI partner to join you. Your teammate will react to where you are on the court and automatically cover the opposite side on defense, so hopefully we won’t have to babysit them too much.

Each character also has their own strengths and weaknesses on the court, which you can check through their Player Profile. The first team to reach 7 points with at least a 2-point lead takes the win. Characters can even improve their volleyball stats over time, with Talent Bread allowing you to boost whichever stats you want to focus on. So yes, apparently we’re building volleyball characters now too, which I am completely okay with lol.

More Version 1.3 Events

Summer activities aren’t the only things keeping us busy in Version 1.3. There are plenty of other events and limited-time rewards coming throughout the update, so let’s quickly go through what we can expect.

Circle Gifts | August 19 – September 30

The Circle Gifts login event is pretty straightforward. Log in for 7 days throughout the event period to claim up to 10 Solid Dice.

Volley Star | August 19 – September 30

Our volleyball adventures continue with Volley Star. This time, we’ll be searching for the mysterious Jade Star, which will only reveal itself to a pair capable of proving themselves out on the beach.

Surf Breaker | August 19 – September 30

If volleyball isn’t your thing, Surf Breaker will give us another way to enjoy the summer festivities by racing along the water under the summer sun.

Hunter’s Crucible | August 19 – September 30

Hunter’s Crucible is also getting expanded with new challenge stages for Mammon and Morphix. A new Hunter’s Crucible – Steel Tempered title will be available as well, featuring visual effects that continue to change and improve as you earn more event points.

Stamina Recharge | August 24 – August 31

During Stamina Recharge, spending twice the City Stamina on select Hethereau Hobbies activities will earn you double the rewards.

Beyond The Rails – Incandescent Circle | August 27 – September 10

Shipwreck Salvage | August 28 – September 30

Shipwreck Salvage puts us behind the wheel of a jet ski as we travel between marked locations looking for lost cargo. Once you find it, you’ll use your harpoon to collect the materials and keep whatever you manage to salvage. Your jet ski has a limited amount of fuel, but you’ll also be able to discover parts throughout the ocean that can be used to improve your jet ski.

Gold Clash | August 31 – September 14

Gold Clash gives us an opportunity to stock up on some extra currency, with double Fons available from Pink Paws Heist throughout the event.

Runaway Echoes | September 9 – September 30

Runaway Echoes sounds like it could be one of the more interesting events of the update. You’ll choose a character and enter an Anomalous Realm, where enemies will continuously swarm you from every direction. Defeating them drops EXP Orbs that can be collected to level up and choose upgrade cards that make you stronger throughout the run.

Your build will depend on the cards you find and choose, meaning each attempt can play out a little differently. Completing runs also rewards Talent Point items, which can be used to progress your character’s Talent Tree and improve both their base stats and combat mechanics. There will be Simulation and Survival modes, along with Challenge Quests offering additional rewards.

Pixel Surge | September 14 – September 21

During Pixel Surge, spending Character Pixels in Houdinii’s Magic Stage, Houdinii’s Schemes, Bubble Can Factory, and Rabbit Hole will give you double the rewards.

Breezy Tour | September 17 – September 30

For something a little more laid-back, Breezy Tour will have us hopping on a bike and giving some recognizable characters a ride to their destinations around the city.

Fons Rush | September 21 – September 28

Fons Rush gives us another chance to stock up on Fons. Spending City Stamina on select Hethereau Hobbies activities during the event will earn you double Fons.

Bagel Supplies

Following the Version 1.3 update, Appraisers who have reached Hunter Level 11 or higher will receive 56,000 Praise Jam through their in-game mail.

New Vehicles and Mystery Boxes

Version 1.3 is bringing several new vehicles to Hethereau, including our first-ever water vehicle, The Tide. With so much of this update taking us to the beach and out onto the water, this one fits in perfectly. Unlike the other new vehicles, though, The Tide will be obtained through the new Mystery Box set.

You can spend either Fons or Annulith to open Mystery Boxes, with 15 boxes in total. The cost will increase with each box you open, but opening all 15 guarantees that you’ll receive every reward available in the pool, including The Tide. The Mystery Boxes will also include new outfits for both the male and female Appraiser.

The other new vehicles will be much more straightforward to get. A Dune Buggy is on the way and will be available for a direct Fons purchase. Then, when the second half of Version 1.3 begins, Yesteryear will become available for Fons as well. Yesteryear is a two-seater bike, giving us another option for cruising around the city with some company.

Stillmeadow House

We’re also getting a brand-new property in Version 1.3 with the Stillmeadow House, which will be available to purchase directly with Fons. What makes this property a little more interesting is that it comes with its own plot of farmland, giving us some extra space to call our own.

So far, this is probably my favorite property we’ve gotten, mainly because it’s actually outside of the city. I love having something a little more removed from all the buildings and busy streets of Hethereau, and having our own farmland makes it even better.

Building Hethereau

Hethereau Hobbies is expanding with a brand-new mode called Building Hethereau, and unlike many of the activities arriving with Version 1.3, this one will be a permanent addition to the game.

Construction sites will begin popping up across Hethereau, with new construction jobs available every day. The difficulty of each job will depend on the size of the construction site, and completing them will earn you various rewards. There will also be a number of different activities to take part in, so it doesn’t sound like we’ll be doing the exact same job every time.

The type of job you accept will also determine which machinery you’ll get to operate, with plenty of the construction vehicles you would expect to see available. Between the rotating jobs, different sites, and getting behind the wheel of some heavy machinery, this should be a fun new way to earn some extra rewards around Hethereau.

New Warren Continent Challenges

New challenges are also making their way to the Warren Continent in Version 1.3. Dragon Keep will be adding a new floor-based monster challenge with two different ways to play: Standard Mode and Infinite Mode.

Standard Mode will feature a total of 99 floors, with each floor requiring you to defeat every enemy before you can move on to the next. If 99 floors somehow aren’t enough for you, Infinite Mode takes things even further by letting you continue climbing and fighting for as long as you can manage.

Permanent Mews Flash

Once the current Mews Flash comes to an end, a brand-new version will take its place as a permanent addition to the game. Purchasing an Echo Bookmark Bundle will also give you a scratcher, while the Echo Bookmarks you collect can be spent in a dedicated event shop. Rewards will include things like avatar frames, titles, namecards, and more.

There will also be three new types of scratchers making their debut, with up to 2.5 million Fons up for grabs. Just make sure to use any scratchers you currently have before the update arrives, as all existing scratchers will be removed once the new version launches.

There is one other important change to keep in mind. Any Fons earned from these new scratchers will no longer contribute toward your Tycoon Level or the Pawbes Rich List, so those big scratcher wins won’t be helping you climb the rankings anymore.

Additional Improvements

Version 1.3 is bringing a few other improvements as well, including upgraded character rendering with better lighting and shadows. This should help characters look a little more polished and natural throughout the game.

The Wardrobe is also getting a new Random Outfit feature, giving us an easy way to switch things up and let the game decide what we’re wearing for a change.

Where Is Neverness to Everness Heading Next?

Version 1.3 is already packed with new content, but we also got a small glimpse at what’s coming next. In Version 1.4, Pukaland will officially open its gates, bringing even more for Appraisers to jump into.

We don’t know too much just yet, but Pukaland will introduce new game modes and Anomaly Commissions. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what else Version 1.4 has in store for us.
