Where Winds Meet January 2026 Roadmap Breakdown: Full Timeline & Events

January brings a new region, the Kaifeng campaign, legacy quests, new bosses and events. In this post, we’ll break everything down week by week so you can see exactly what’s coming this month.

Week 1: Solo Mode & Hero's Realm

Week One brings two exciting updates. This includes:

01/04 | Solo Mode: Lv. 10 - Unbound
01/04 | Hero's Realm: Sorrow of Mortalbound

What is Solo Mode?
Solo Mode is how you make yourself and the world around you stronger, which in turn grants you greater rewards. Each level has a set of tasks you must complete in order to breakthrough to the next level. For Level 10, which releases on January 4th, you will need to reach Level 70 and complete Taiping Mausoleum - Foundation Trials, Floors 8 and 9. This is not an easy task, but it is essential for continuing your journey and strengthening both yourself and the world. Each breakthrough also grants you new rewards, including the ability to acquire and use Level 71 gear for this next stage.

Where do I find Hero's Realm?
Pull up your main menu and look for the Wandering Paths tab under the Mode section, then click on it.

Once you’re on this screen, click on the Challenges tab.

This will show you several different challenges you can take part in. Tab over to the Hero’s Realm section. At the bottom, you’ll see an “Intro” option. Click it to get more information about Hero’s Realm. Hero’s Realm is a trial-style activity where you run a circuit of bosses alongside other players (10 in total). It comes with its own set of rewards, and it also appears to function as a weekly challenge.

On January 4th, the new Hero's Realm challenge called Sorrow of Mortalbound will unlock.

Week 2: Kaifeng Campaign, Legacy Quests, World Boss, and New Event

January 8th will be an exciting day full of new content to dive into. We will get a new Kaifeng campaign alongside new legacy quests. We will also get the Nameless General, a new world boss. And to top it all off, we will get a new event: Jianghu Martial Games.

The world boss will be located in Martial Temple to the South of Kaifeng City.

Week 3: Nine Mortal Ways Base Region, Mistveil Prison Puzzle Cave, and Guild Battle Preseason Event

Week Three brings even more content for you to enjoy! This includes:

01/15 | Puzzle Cave: Mistveil Prison
01/16 | Event: Guild Battle Preseason
01/22 | Region: Nine Mortal Ways Base

I am not entirely sure what the Puzzle Cave is. The Guild Battle Preseason appears to be a PVP event. I'll update as more info comes out!

The new region will be located in the Ghostlight Market, all the way to the left. You will come across a bridge. Right now, the game will not let you cross and will say the area is under development, but on January 22nd, this area will unlock!

Week 4: New Story & Events

The final week of January brings a new story quest and two new events. I’ll update this section as more information comes out!

Final Thoughts

It looks like we’ll be getting a new roadmap every month, and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve played a lot of online MMO-style games, and none of them have offered this level of planning and communication. Usually, it’s the opposite and I’m left completely in the dark lol.

Once again, we’re getting a new area to explore, fresh events to jump into, and even more rewards to collect. I’m honestly blown away that all of this is free, and I’m incredibly excited for the future of this game.
