Heartopia Meteor Shower: Participation Guide & Shard Locations
Learn how to participate in the meteor shower weather event in Heartopia, where to find starfall shard locations, and what unique rewards you can earn. This guide explains how the event works and how to make the most of it when it appears.
The meteor shower weather event in Heartopia is a limited-time phenomenon that allows players to collect special starfall shards that fall from the sky. While the event is active, shooting stars light up the night, and shards can be found in specific locations if you know where to look. These shards can be used to purchase unique rewards tied to the event. This guide will walk you through how to participate in the meteor shower event and where to find starfall shards so you’re ready to make the most of it when it occurs.
How to Participate in the Meteor Shower Event
Luckily, Heartopia makes it easy to plan ahead for this event. You can check when the meteor shower is coming by looking at the weather on your in-game phone. Open your main menu (Tab key) or tap the small phone icon in the top-right corner of your screen. At the top of the screen, you’ll see the current weather. Tap or click on it to view the weekly forecast, which also shows any special events that may be coming up.

On the day the event arrives, it will show you the exact time it starts. For example, mine ran on Saturday and began at 17:00 (5:00 PM). I didn’t make it to the event until around 7:00 PM, and it was still active and running. From my experience, it seems like you have a decent window of time to participate and gather starfall shards.
When I logged in, my first indicator that the event was happening was simply looking up and seeing meteors showering across the sky. To double-check, I opened my phone and saw Meteor Shower listed as the current weather.
What Are Starfall Shards Used For?
Collecting starfall shards allows you to purchase items from Doris’s Fortune Store. To find her, head to the Onsen Mountain Lake. The exact map location where I found Doris is pictured below.

Once you arrive, walk across the fishing docks and start heading up the mountain. As you make your way in that direction, you should spot Doris nearby. She’s the NPC you’ll want to talk to.

When you select the option to view Doris’s Fortune Store, this menu will pop up.

These are the items you can purchase using starfall shards. Each item is available in every meteor color. As shown at the top, there are six different shard colors in total, though I personally only found three during the event: white, blue, and purple.
Starfall Shard Locations in Heartopia
From what I’ve been able to gather through my own gameplay and conversations in the Heartopia Discord, Starfall Shard locations don’t appear to be completely fixed. While the exact spawn points can change between events, all known shard drops still occur within the Onsen Mountains and generally appear relatively close to one another. It’s also worth noting that shard colors may vary, so the colors shown on the map may not always match what spawns in-game. Below are the shard locations I’m currently aware of. The blue ore markers indicate blue shards, purple ore represents purple shards, and yellow ore is standing in for white shards (since there wasn’t an off-white option 😅). I’ll continue updating this guide as I discover or learn about additional info.

I’d recommend starting on the right side of the Onsen Mountains and zigzagging your way to the left, hitting each shard location along the way. From my experience, I was able to collect every shard shown on this map, even though I started about two hours after the event began. Overall, it seems like you have plenty of time to collect all the shards, which is honestly really nice. This is what you should be looking for as you hunt for starfall shards.

Pull out your axe, just like you would when mining rocks or ore, and mine the meteor. Doing so will drop starfall shards, gather them and they will go directly into your inventory. The item description notes that they “can be redeemed for various souvenirs at Doris’s Meteor Shower Fortune Store.”

In total, I was able to collect 11 white shards, 12 blue shards, and 11 purple shards. As far as I could tell, the shards didn’t respawn for me, so I wasn’t able to gather any additional ones.
Is the Meteor Shower Event Worth Doing?
Yes, most definitely, especially if you’re a collector like me! It doesn’t take very long to participate, and each time you do, you’ll be rewarded with shards that can be used to purchase unique meteor furniture items. Over time, you’ll be able to collect them all, and even in every color if you want.
If this furniture isn’t really your thing, don’t sweat it. This event isn’t required for progression in any way. It’s just a fun side activity to enjoy whenever it occurs.
